Alice’s custom website was designed not only to showcase her fine art images, but to reflect her love of Hispanic and American indigenous cultures. We used shots she had taken of adobe walls to create the background and, rather than fill the gallery pages with lots of thumbnails, opted for a single image in the page which, when clicked, opens a Lightbox image display solution. Though there are many ways to go about this, all of which I think work very well and are suitably attractive, Lightbox is very lightweight, using javascipt and css to display the image enlargements in a style similar to the solution used on Facebook, and doesn’t take a lot of drama to implement. We plan to make some additions once I complete the other website I’m working on right now. For that one, we’re targeting a 2.14.12 launch date. I have several more waiting for me to catch up since I’m a bit behind schedule. More on this later!
